Owned by a small rural East Texas 911 Provider, this unit was purchased brand new along with the company's first new Type III. It was strictly a reserve unit and was only put in service a handful of times when the primary unit was down. Our Mom and Pop service had to close after nearly 15 years, and is selling all assets. We also have a Lifepak 12 and other equipment for sale at dotmed.com.
We all know what happens to an old ambulance that sits around- but you'd be amazed how well a new one holds up, even after 14 years. This thing is like new! It runs like a dream. With only 30K miles, this truck will give you an easy 200K miles of dependable use. I know the 6.0 isn't the favorite diesel motor any more, but one advantage to it is that it doesn't require the new blue DEF fluid. Another is that most mechanics have plenty of experience with the 6.0 motor as it was the standard for most trucks for many years. Need to get 400K miles out of it? Ask your mechanic about Bulletproofing this 6.0 motor.
This truck has never had any problems, and everything works as it should. The light package is basic halogen flashers- no LED or strobes. It doesn't have a lightbar on top and it doesn't have a power inverter- but it is pre-wired for both. I have a Motorola VHF radio available.
You may notice a couple of cosmetic flaws in the photos, but you can also see it's in great shape. If it doesn't sell I will likely strip it of ambulance stuff and replace the conversion top, and use it for either cargo hauling or travel- but it really wants to be an ambulance. It will make you a good one.
